Debbie Shakespeare

Debbie began dancing at the age of three in New York City and has continued to study dance with top choreographers and teachers from New York and Los Angeles. Her love of dance and wanting to teach children through a positive environment has made Broadway Dancesations a success with a strong family atmosphere. She continues to travel to New York to study dance and attend dance conventions. Her students continue to win awards for creative choreography, along with an abundance of trophies and several titles including Dancer Of The Year. Debbie has moved to be closer with her family. Her son, Sonny, who follows in his mothers footsteps and taught as a dance convention teacher and has been on tour with top choreographers. Her husband Mark, and their dog Brutus. Though Debbie no longer teaches at the studio, she is very involved behind the scenes as the Costume Designer for our Dance Team and won “Best Costume Award” for Fish Bowl and Bollywood this past season.

Shelly Acevedo
Director
Miss Shelly grew up in Miami, FL where she watched and danced with her three older siblings at the age of three. She is trained in all techniques and styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, and Tumbling. After receiving numerous awards for dance and cheerleading she attended the University of South Florida and received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. She has studied and performed with prominent choreographers such as Ann Reinking, Wade Robson, John Parks, Joe Melchiona, Doug Caldwell, and Joe Tremaine, to name a few. She began teaching with Broadway Dancesations in 1991 and has been the Assistant Director, Competition Team Coordinator and Summer Camp Director for 10 years. She has also taught in Clearwater, FL, Lexington, KY, and Miami, FL. Upon Miss Debbie’s retirement, she accepted the position of Director for Broadway Dancesations. Miss Shelly has a passion for dance and wants to share her joy and love with all ages, levels, and techniques. She is versatile and has taught for high school dance teams, pre schools, and college students. In addition to teaching classes and running the studio, the Competition Team keeps her very busy traveling to various competitions throughout Florida. Her award winning choreography has added to her many achievements. Besides dancing, Miss Shelly sings with the Praise and Worship band in her church and is the mother to two dancing daughters who have won numerous high awards. Miss Shelly keeps herself surrounded by a wonderful staff that shares her views of dance and is honored to dance beside them.
Monica Sherman
Assistant Director/Instructor
Miss Monica has danced since the age of three and has been dancing ever since. She is our instructor of Lyrical, Jazz and Ballet and is celebrating her ninth year of teaching at Broadway Dancesations. Miss Monica began her dance training here with Miss Debbie and performed over ten years with the Competition Dance Team where she won numerous awards. She has also performed in the Miami City Ballet's Nutcracker and Pregame Show for Super Bowl XXXV. Miss Monica has continued her training and has studied with prominent instructors such as Joe Tremaine, Jerry Rose, Myles Throughgood, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, Dan Karaty, Doug Caldwell, Desiree Robbins and Chris Judd to name a few. Miss Monica is also the Competition Dance Team Assistant Director and a Choreographer. Her works have received many outstanding awards including Highest Scoring Teacher Award. We are very proud of all her accomplishments.
Denise Lukacik
Instructor
Miss Denise has over 20 years experience in dance and performing arts. She teaches all technique styles, levels and ages. She is a member of the National Dance Education Organization, Florida Dance Education Organization and Professional Dance Teachers Association. She is the previous Director of DANCEEXPERIENCE. Miss Denise has a variety of dance and choreography credits including East Pasco Arts in Motion productions of “Annie”, “The Wizard of Oz” and” Beauty and the Beast”. She also coached and choreographed for talent competitions and pageants including Miss Zephyrhills and Royal Court, Queens’s dance and Miss Rattler. Miss Denise also judges for local beauty scholarship pageants and was spotlighted in Who’s Who of American Women. Miss Denise is currently a Para Professional at Pine View Elementary School and mother of two. We love Miss Denise’s energy!
Sarah Lukacik
Instructor
Sarah began dancing at the age of five and has never stopped! She has won numerous competition awards for dance with the most recent being 1st Runner Up at the Pasco County Fair held annually in February in Dade City. Sarah has enjoyed performing on competition dance teams and being a member of the showcased performances at Epcot Center and Disneyworld the past 8 years. Additionally, Sarah is our “Pageant Girl”. She has held many titles and crowns over the last four years and participated in the Miss America/Miss Florida Outstanding Teen pageants, where she received high awards for her dance performances. Many of these pageants were for charitable causes. Miss Sarah currently attends Pasco Hernando Community College. We are excited to have her on our award winning staff.
Staci Reardon
Office Manager/Sign Instructor
Miss Staci had been a part of Broadway Dancesations dance family since 2001. Not only does Miss Staci run our front office so efficiently, she is our Sign Instructor. She has her Associates degree in Early Childhood from Nova Southeastern University. Miss Staci is currently an assistant teacher at Lake Myrtle Elementary for Children with Autism. Her
training consists of Social and Emotional Development, Child Development, Physical and Intellectual development, Program Management, Behavioral Observation and Screening, and Child observation. Miss Staci is fluent in Sign Language, a mother of three and continues to work towards her goal in becoming a Special Needs Teacher. We are blessed to have her.
Jennifer Spires
Instructor
Miss Jennifer started dancing at the age of five and a few years later changed her focus and began training in gymnastics and ballet. She was a competitive gymnast for seven years, consistently placing in the top three in both individual apparatus scores as well as all-around scores at regional and state competitions. Since finishing her competitive career, she has continued coaching both new and seasoned gymnast. Miss Jennifer has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and the mother of three. We look forward to tumbling with Miss Jennifer.
Amy Hannan
Instructor
Miss Amy has been dancing since she was eight years old. During high school she was a member of the Performing Company at her studio which performed at various events in Lake County. She was also an Assistant Teacher for Ballet and Tap. She has also performed in to Orlando City Ballet’s Nutcracker. While earning her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Miss Amy continued to dance at the University of South Florida. Miss Amy has danced and taught at Broadway Dancesations for the past six years as she earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education. She is currently a teacher at Northwest Elementary School in Hillsborough County. She is also our Summer Camp Instructor and studio’s Picture Taking Princess! We adore Miss Amy!
